Back to School 2011-12

When did my girls grow up. First day of the new school year. Camry is going into 4th grade at Providence Elementary and has Mrs. Jorgenson. Jaiden is in 7th grade at Spring Creek Middle School and loves all her classes so far, especially Spanish and Guitar. We went to Layton shopping and picked out their school clothes (7 hours later). Grandma Smith came with us and took us to lunch at Olive Garden. Its a fun tradition that we like to do each year before school starts.
I'm glad my kids love school, but its still hard to see them leave all day. I've had a fun summer hanging out with them.

Happy Birthday to Me

Had a great birthday this year. Not sure that I feel 41, but the birthdays keep coming, so I guess there isn't much I can do to stop them. Jeff got this cake for me and had his boys and my girls all surprise me and sing Happy Birthday to me. It was way cute to see all their smiling faces. They loved being part of the surprise.

It was my favorite... oreo ice cream cake from DQ.

Then I was spoiled with an Ipod Touch, already loaded with lots of great music. Jeff thought it was time for me to join the 20th century and have my own ipod.

When I got back to Cache Valley, I went to lunch with friends at Firehouse and then to Federicos for lunch the next day with my mom, sisters and and all the girls. Thanks everyone.!!!

Camping in Zions National Park

Zions National Park....Jeff took us to Zions to go camping. The night before, we showed up at his house and he didn't get home from work til 2:30 in the morning. So with little sleep, we loaded up the gear and when we got to the park there was a big sign that said No Fires, which was quite humorous considering we brought hotdogs and smores and picked up firewood on the way. So we had to make do with what we had. We set up camp, hiked the trails, and played in the water. It was beautiful and we had such a great time.

They loved to stop and play in the water where ever we went...so we spent lots of time just relaxing and getting our feet wet.

This was a fun trail that led us to a place where the water comes out of the rock. It was a hot day so it felt great to get a little shower.

Back at the lodge we took a break for come ice cream and watched the boys gang up on their dad.

More water. They found a current and would run up stream and swim down, then they would climb the rocks and slide down them and bury themselves in the red sand.

Never a dull moment. We had such a fun time.

Camry

Camry took a sewing class this summer with her friends (Olivia, Sammy Wiser and Sammi Carlston). This is the skirt that she made. I was so proud of her. I think she is already better than me in the sewing department.

Not the best picture, but she got a new hair cut for school and they cut off about 9-10 inches.
